I would also say that if you have an agent, you should show why that is superior to polling mechanisms leveraging SNMP. Often I don't see a clear advantage to agents except push based network mechanics...

Yes, that's my biggest concern with agent-based monitoring is making sure that it's light weight and won't cause issues. If an agent is crashing, that's just bad form.
