In that case I would recommend monitoring the cluster VIP only, and not the individual cluster members. I most cases people monitor each cluster member for node status, CPU/Memory/etc. They then monitor the cluster VIP as a separate node, monitoring only cluster related objects like shared volumes and applications like AppInsight for SQL.
