Just to clarify to make sure I understand:If the polling runs for awhile and the data point returned per each poll is:
poll 1: (no data returned, NULL, or empty string)
poll 2: (no data returned, NULL, or empty string)
poll 3: (no data returned, NULL, or empty string)
poll 4: 3, "some error string"
poll 5: 5, "some error string"
poll 6: 6, "some error string"
poll 7: (no data returned, NULL, or empty string)
poll 8: (no data returned, NULL, or empty string)
and I have a threshold set (per your screenshot above) to Critical > 2 for at least 3 polls:
a. The Warning threshold will not trigger (because it's set to "greater than", or maybe because no data in the field turns it off completely?)
b. The Critical threshold will trigger at poll 6 (because the conditions have been met)
c. The monitor will be "Up"/Green for polls 1-5 turn "Down"/Red for poll 6. and return to "Up"/Green at poll 7-8
Also: I'm just wondering about this, not actually needing to do it: How would you set a threshold if the data set was reversed and I wanted to alert on *when no data was returned for awhile*...maybe setting "Critical is equal to" and leaving the threshold blank does that...then I'd assume I'd have to set the Warning Threshold to "Greater than" and leave it an empty string...or maybe "-1"?
