- I work on a closed network so I'm not able to upload any data to the THWACK community, I can only post information that I see.
- We use two older, NETOPIA R3100-U,-UP,-I ISDN Routers. (Company use to be called Farallon Computing INC)
- I am using Windows Firewall (WF) on my NCM server. I have verified that the appropriate TCP/UDP ports/protocols are allowed through the firewall on the NCM server. I've also verified that I'm not getting WF Event ID 2011 for blocked connections. After disabling the Firewall I get the same results.
- The devices are not SSH compatiable and use SNMP version 1 only.
- I have configured NCM to execute scripts using TELNET, request Configs using SNMP, and transferee Configs using TFTP.
- From the Routers I'm able to TFTP my configuration to my NCM TFTP server and I'm able to poll the both devices with RO/RW SNMP credentials from the NCM server.
- When I go to verify/validate credentials it fails. During the credential verification/validation process I see the following: Validate IP Address passes. Validate login shows the name field with no strings entered. The password field shows strings being entered and then shows the name field again with strings being entered. After that I get Login failed: bad password.
- The credentials that I am providing in NCM are correct as I'm able to use Putty and TELNET to the device and manage it.
